Radio Reruns

I don't like morning -- it starts too early in the day. Yesterday morning was worse than most and started out bad from the get go. I always know it's going to be a lousy day when it begins with getting out of bed. I've had bronchitis for over a week, and to make matters worse, I awoke with a migraine the size of Hoboken, New Jersey. I was crabbier than a seaside restaurant.
I'd had surgery on my hand and was taking pain medication that made me lethargic, so I just wanted to veg out, watching Gilligan's Island reruns and old movies. But right in the middle of "It's a Wonderful Life," my TV died. (Merry Christmas, Bedford Falls!) I don't know what went wrong with it, but it may have had something to do with the flames shooting out the back like fourth of July fireworks.
Do you know how boring and frustrating it is to be cranky, tired, and sick but not have a TV for distraction? I had to put up with my own company. That's as much fun as spending the day in a phone booth with a Pitt Bull that has PMS.
I decided to make Christmas cookies, but that endeavor did not go well. The first bowl of dough was runnier than my nose. The second batch was as sticky as used gum on a hot sidewalk, and I burned the third batch blacker than a grease monkey's finger nails. No wonder I hate to cook. After three flops, I gave up and vowed never to touch an oven mitt again. I think I'll become a commercial cook, cooking only what can be heated in the microwave during TV commercials.
I grabbed the pitcher of juice and bumped it on the counter. The bottom exploded like an overcooked Johnsonville brat. A geyser of juice and shattered glass sprayed the cupboards and floor. After cleaning that up, I went into the den and slid across the room on a pile of dog vomit, smearing it all over the rug. Another mess to clean up.
The last straw was when I went to the drug store for antibiotics. When the pharmacist told me it would cost $60 for three days' worth, I got madder than a constipated rattlesnake. And like a rattlesnake, I wanted to bite somebody. I didn't have that much money on me, so I had to leave without the pills.
When I got back home, I stomped around complaining about everything that annoyed me. Being crankier than a giraffe with strep throat, I couldn't think of a single thing that didn't bug me.
Coincidentally, while listening to the radio, I heard a country song entitled, "I hate everything." My sentiments exactly!
Then I recalled a funny story about a kid pulling a prank on his grandpa. While the old man slept, his grandson wiped Limburger cheese on his mustache. When grandpa woke up, he complained that the room smelled bad. When he walked into a different room, that one smelled the same way. Finally, he went outside to get away from the odor, but it followed him. Grandpa exclaimed, "The whole world stinks!"
Yesterday, even without Limburger cheese on my face, I felt like the whole world stunk.
Of course, I know that this kind of thinking results from focusing on the negative and not seeing the positive. When I do that, I say things like "always, " "never," or "everybody." For instance, "EVERYBODY else has a better life than I do." Or "Things NEVER work out for me." And "Why do bad things ALWAYS happen to me?" I know very well that everybody doesn't have a better life. Bad things don't always happen to only me, but yesterday, it sure did seem that way. When I have a "Limburger attitude," and feel like the whole world smells bad, I need to challenge my false self talk and adjust my "stinkin' thinkin'."
I can't control my circumstances but I can control my attitude. Reversing a Limburger attitude requires developing an attitude of gratitude. When I feel that everything is bad and the world stinks, I need to stop and make a conscious effort to focus on the positive. I think of the good things for which I can be thankful. If nothing else, I can be thankful that I woke up this morning. (Well, maybe there are some days when that doesn't SEEM like such a positive thing.)
When I count my blessings, I feel bad about the way I whine and feel sorry for myself. I have a lot more than many others do. I have much to be thankful for and nothing to complain about.
Negative self talk can make me feel like the whole world stinks, but positive thinking is just as powerful. Practicing thankfulness often turns my outlook around. A Limburger attitude can become an attitude of gratitude.

Did you ever watch that show growing up? There was just a rerun on. And now that I think about it, it didn't seem very realistic. Because did you ever notice that every adult character in the house was famous somehow or was on t.v/radio/singer?

Prince Edward Island Cottages
SUMMARY
Originally named - Abegweit (‘cradled on the waves) - by the Native American people, Prince Edward Island continues to celebrate with festivals by the sea. Every year, PEI holds more than 30 fun-filled festivals. Find out about Prince Edward Island' popular festivals by the sea.
Prince Edward Island: Festivals by the Sea
If you visit Prince Edward Island, it is impossible to leave without taking in one of their fabulous and fun festivals by the sea. Prince Edward Island festivals include over 30 fun-filled events from music festivals to drama festivals to food festivals. From sports to comedy to fireworks, there is something for everyone at Prince Edward Island festivals.
The entertaining exhibitions and spirited Prince Edward Island events focus on specific PEI themes. Some festivals honor the roots of Prince Edward Island's people and celebrate Irish and Scottish traditions as well as English and French culture through song and dance. Fiddlers and step dancers can add life to any festival. Other festivals focus on Prince Edward's Island food – an array of local produce and shellfish.
The PEI International Shellfish Festival (referred to as the Biggest Kitchen Party in Atlantic Canada) is held in Charlottetown in September. In addition, there is the Tyne Valley Oyster Festival. The Island Chocolates Company Chocolate Festival offers some sweet entertainment. Other agricultural festivals focus on Prince Edward Island's produce including everything from potatoes to wild blueberries.
Prince Edward Island festivals allow island farmers and producers to display their wares. The exhibitions are top-of-the line but PEI festivals include all kinds of activities. Visitors can view the island's bounty being prepared in time-honored fashion. Everyone can enjoy the dory races or watch a parade wind through town.
PEI festivals have performances, competitions, and pageants. Kids always enjoy a festival – especially a Prince Edward Island festival. Sack races, pony rides, and face painting make for a pleasant afternoon and lasting memories.
Since you are in Prince Edward Island, you cannot have a festival without "Anne of Green Gables!" The red-haired darling of Lucy Maud Montgomery's novel is celebrated throughout the island. Check out ‘Anne of Green Gables – the Musical' in Charlottetown and "Anne & Gilbert the Musical," (a musical about Anne of Green Gables and her love) at Victoria–By-the-Sea.
‘Anne' is not the only one ‘in love' on Prince Edward Island. Of course, there are the love-struck couples strolling on the beach with the wind in their hair and the starlight showing them the way. Yet everyone falls in love at Prince Edward Island festivals – at least with beautiful PEI.

Why did Anne Murray want to hear a little good news?
I rather hear something bad or interesting like a crime.
All these stupid people "making a difference" for their community doesn't get my blood hot.
It was a song in the 1980's. Can't remember the year.
Because She THEN- was singing about what a lot of People TODAY- complain about; "Why doesn't the Media ever Report any GOOD News ??" ! Anne's songs were Great... -& She was WAY ahead of Her Time...

In 1960, the great animation duo of William Hanna and Joe Barbera, premiered the first ever prime time half hour cartoon series, "The Flintstones". Two years later the only Hanna Barbera Studios DENTAL THEMED episode, "Nuttin But the Tooth", was aired. From this Flintstones cartoon there were two limited edition cels published. Both have been big hits with dentists as both editions completely sold out.
Since the demand for the first two pieces was so high, Amazing Animation (an exclusive distributors of dental related art) collaborated once again with the very talented Hanna-Barbera Artist Bob Singer on the third and final limited edition cel based on this cartoon. "Nuttin' But the Tooth" was episode 12 of season 3. The Original air date was November 30th 1962.
Here is the very funny synopsis of the plot:
When Barney wakes up with terrible tooth pain, Betty asks Fred if he would take him to the dentist to get his tooth pulled. Along the way Fred sees a billboard promoting the big fight that night, so Fred has the idea of pulling Barney's tooth himself and taking the $10.00 to buy ring side seats to the fight.
Fred's first attempt is depicted in this now classic, sold out limited edition cel from 1994. "Nuttin But the Tooth" The cel pictures Fred about to drive away in his car while Barney stands behind the car with a string attached to his tooth at one end and to Fred's car on the other,
After Barney foils this attempt, by running after the car while Fred drives away, Fred comes up with another idea, shown in this sold out limited edition cel from 2003, "Nuttin But the Tooth II". In this scene Fred has the idea of attaching one end of the string to Dino's collar and then tempting Dino to run away by tossing the cat in front of him.
This plan also backfires as Barney removes the string and hands it to Fred just before Dino takes off after the cat. This sends Fred bouncing down the street, up and over many hard objects before finally running smack into a tree.
Not to be denied seeing the big fight, Fred suggests having a Dinosaur Dentist pull Barney's tooth. This will cost only $5.00, still leaving enough money for a pair of cheap seats for the fight.
This brings them to the only Dinosaur Dentist in town, Smiley Molar. While Smiley is on the phone getting the grocery list from his wife, Barney gets an overdose of gas and floats past Fred, right out of the office window. Fred proceeds to chase after him, finally catching him with some nifty lassoing, which ultimately crashes Barney on top of Fred causing Barney's tooth to fall out. The cartoon ends with the boys making it to the fight.
The scene at Smiley Molar's Dentist office forms the basis of artist Bob Singer's creation and third Limited Edition dental Flintstones cel, "Stone Age Dentistry". Bob Singer, has worked alongside Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera since the magical days of Hanna-Barbera Animation in the 1960's and 70's. He is the last of the three artist's alive and still creating Hanna-Barbera animation artwork for Warner Brothers Studio today. Warner Bros.studio now owns, the then seperate, Hanna-Barbera Studios.
Amazing Animation has worked very closely with Bob Singer for years. He has appeared at our show booth during the annual dental meetings we exhibit at and has created three other limited edition cels for us: The Jetsons "Space Age Dentistry", Scooby Doo's "Bad Bite Clinic" and "Fred's New Braces"
Bob is a great talent that we are very privileged to be able to work with him, but most importantly he is a wonderful human being. We have always been big fans of Bob's artwork so needless to say, we were very excited when we saw his rendition of the new "Stone Age Dentistry" limited edition.
I believe Bob has expertly captured the look and feel of the "Nuttin But the Tooth" cartoon. Even from the first sketch I could envisioned all three cels nicely hanging together. I also love the way Bob has portrayed the tools of the Stone Age dentist. The conversion of the present day to the Stone Age was always my favorite part of watching the Flintstones.
Luckily, we have a web page built with images of all three pieces. Feel free to come in and take a look around. You can browse images of our many other works of dental art and animation art. Click on the Flintstones link in the left hand navigation bar at http://www.DentalCollectibles.com. To get notified of all our latest specials and receive our free e-mail/newsletter subscription about dental art, sign up at http://www.DentalArtGallery.com. Thanks to my brother Perry, and his company Amazing Animation, for the information and inspiration for this article. Amazing Animation has been specializing in dental art business for over eight years and another 12 years experience, prior to that, in the animation art business.

Tape Great

Pipe Id Tape Helps Manage the Pipeline Jungle
Pipe ID tapes are used to mark each pipeline to identify its contents. In a process industry with many process and service pipelines, this becomes an essential task.
Requirements to be Met by Pipe ID Tapes
Pipeline identification tapes are typically used in harsh environments. Pipes are used offshore and onshore, upstream and downstream, and can be constantly exposed to salt water sprays, different humidity conditions and corrosive chemicals like Hydrogen Sulphide.
The tapes need to be made with materials that can resist UV light, salt water, different chemicals and solvents. They might also have to work in wide temperature ranges from much below zero to above water boiling point.
Pipe ID tapes are hence made of tough materials like polyester and finished with UV resistant laminates that also enhance the tape's durability. Tapes might come with a backing paper over the adhesive surface. The backing paper is removed as the tape is wound around the pipe.
Thus one typical structure adopted for pipe id tape is a four-layer construction. A polyester base and a solvent adhesive form the core of the construction. A polyester laminate coats the polyester base while a siliconized backing paper protects the adhesive surface.
At times, it might not be possible to wind the tape completely around the pipe. In such cases, the tape should be capable of being cut and applied to the accessible circumference.
One convenience is "upside down" printing of the messages. This means that messages are printed in pairs, in reverse directions. This can be a great convenience in some situations, as persons coming from opposite directions can easily read the message.
Standard Pipe ID Tapes
There are many standard color combinations, service messages, symbols, directional arrows and languages that are typically available ready made from stock. Additionally, you can specify your own special requirements for color, color combinations, text and symbols. The width requirements can differ, say, 50mm, 100mm or 150mm. The rolls might come in 25-meter rolls.
The tape supplier should also be able to meet standards like BS1710, ISO standards or local standards.
Considering the rigorous conditions that pipeline identification tapes have to face, the tapes are typically subjected to a number of tests before being passed for distribution. These tests include:
- Simulated External Weathering: This test evaluates the weatherability of the tape
- Moisture Resistance: The tape is tested under varying temperature and humidity conditions
- Low Temperature: The performance of the tape is tested under -25 degrees or -40 degrees Celsius
- Salt Mist: The tape is exposed to salt mist for specified numbers of hours
- Sour Ageing: The tape is exposed to gas mixtures containing Hydrogen Sulphide
Conclusion
Pipe ID tape, or pipeline identification tape, is used to label the contents of each pipe in process industries that typically employ several process and service pipelines. The pipe ID tapes typically work under very harsh conditions, including offshore and corrosive environments. Hence they have to be extra durable and be able to resist many kinds of exposures.
To meet the rigorous requirements, pipe ID tapes are made in several layers such as a base that is protected by a laminate layer and an adhesive surface protected by backing paper. The tapes also typically undergo several tests before being passed.

Below, you'll find the most common lexicon that
get on to CD duplication. Even if you are new to
doubling, the requisites below may help you find out more.
BLER
Block Error Rate. This is the raw digital blunder rate
before any type of oversight adjustment.
CD
This the Compact Disc, a digital middle that's formed
of a 12cm substrate, a pensive metalized layer, and a shielding lacquer covering. This is a widely popular for of media storage for computer users and music lovers.
CD-R
Compact Disc-Recordable. The term CD-R is used to describe the equipment of CD along with
the gear, software, and broadcasting that are used to make the recordable disks.
Data layer
With CD-R mass media, this is the organic dye that is between the polycarbonate substrate and
the contemplative layer of the newspapers. CD-R disks don't have any data on them at all until the
are written. A CD that has been written is un changed by the naked eye and can only be checked using a media player.
Injection Molding
This is a manufacturing order where the molten
central is forced into a mold, customarily under
high hassle, then air-conditioned so that the pertinent
will take on the contour of a mirror icon in the
mold.
Media or
CD-R television are the disks that are used to world record digital figures keen a one scribe and
software with a computer. These discs are made of a substrate, a layer of
organic dye, a serious layer, and a crust of lacquer for fortification.
Organic dye
The data layer of CD-R radio is made from a dye that is melted during the process of soundtrack.
Where the dye is melted, becomes opaque or refractive, sprinkling the reading so that it isn't manifest back into the reading device.
Reflective layer
This is the metal later that sits on top of the dye that exhibit the laser beam back to the
reading congregation. This is in general 24k gold in CD-R disks, although it can be shiny as well.
No matter what you call them CD's have taken over the media world as a storage device for music and data. The cassette tapes and floppy disc era is coming to a close with cd's taking their place.
