Love Hate

I was born in the country. I lived and grew up there. I am used to seeing the forest, which I love. Our home is far away from the sea. When I was young, I always wanted to see the sea; play in the sand, make sand castles, run in the water and stay there until my skin turned brown. I would swim, collect shells and much more.

During my childhood years, I would draw the image of the sea on a blank sheet of paper with me standing in the center. It would be like a dream come true if I could just visit the ocean. I always imagined myself wearing two-piece bikinis like the women who live by the sea.

When I was in 5th grade, there was a tragedy that happened to my family. My father died. When that happened, my life became like a living nightmare. I was daddy's girl. I was very close to my father. we were like best friends. My parents are more like friends to me.

When he passed away, everything changed. I did not see my mother smiling, but just the opposite. She was always crying, day and night.

Because of this tragedy, my mother had to find a way for us to survive. She tried to open a business. This meant we had to move to a place where business would be good. We had to move to a location where the ocean was. For the first time, I saw the sea. I did not know how I would react. Would I be happy because i can finally do what I dreamed of as a child. Instead, I was angry because my father was not there. We could have see the ocean together.

While I was at the seashore one morning, I saw someone happily running around. When he accidentally stumbled and crashed his face on a big stone.

I was shocked; it took me a minute to react. When I looked at him to check if he was okay. I saw that he lost two teeth. And his gums were bleeding. His mother came running, and directly brought him to the nearest clinic.

There are many things that you can do by the sea. Because of my loss, I have a Love / Hate relationship with the sea.
